Art 1-

Resubmissions of Non-Obective shape designs must be turned in by 10/11. This is the last opportunity to make up this project or change your original point score.

Remember Non-Objective shape design grades will be based on the following:

DESIGN shows a clear focal area and that focal area is not in the middle. Focal area should be placed according to the rule of thirds.

DESIGN needs to have a variety of shapes showing contrast.

DESIGN needs to show eye -movement through the use of line, repitition of shape… or color…….

DESIGN needs to show shapes viually extending to or bleeding off the edges

COLOR PENCIL work needs to be rich and saturated.

LAST 3 WEEKS

You will have 3 projects due including the final.

1. Etchings – You will need to complete etching prints. Each table will only have two scheduled printing days. The prints you turn in for a grade must be “GOOD” prints.

Good prints will have the following:

Image will be centered on the paper

Ink will be even – no noticeable unintentional light patches

Image will be clearly readable – not blurred out by too much ink.

A – 4 GOOD PRINTS

B – 3 GOOD PRINTS

C – 2 GOOD PRINTS

D – I GOOD PRINT

ONE PRINT WILL BE DONATED TO THE SCHOOL

1. Mural – You will need to complete your spot on the Art Department Mural.

All subject matter must be school appropriate. You will need to show the instructor a small concept sketch before painting.

Spots on the mural will be chosen randomly. There might be conflicts with having space to paint —so don’t wait till the last minute. Use all available class time.

NO NUMBERS OR WORDS can be in the mural.

Mural must be completed by June 17^th

1. FINAL – You will be completing a self-portrait that incorporates your past, present and future. This will be a graphite (pencil) project.

See information in class.

Much of this project may need to be completed outside of class time.

THIS PROJECT WILL BE DUE ON THE DAY OF THE FINAL

The last 3 weeks of class are here. Some dates to remember:

June 4th –last day for any extra credit work to be turned in

June 11th –last day to turn in any missing assignments or work for resubmission.

No late work will be accepted on the last project of the year.

FIRST HOMEWORK IS DUE THIS FRIDAY 2/05    —–3 BOXES IN 1PT PERSPECTIVE – ALL APPEARING OPEN WITH SOMETHING CRAWLING, FLYING, OOZING, FALLING OUT OF THE BOXES. EVERYTHING MUST BE SHADED WITH ONE LIGHT SOURCE AND CAST SHADOWS.
